A Family

Numeros Cuatro y Cinco

Number Four
Oh my goodness!! I only just looked at James's blog and saw that his five part meme is due tomorrow! I don't know what would happen if we didn't make it in time, but I'm not going to try and find out.
The fourth part is your favorite actor and band/singer. Hmm. What to put? I don't think I have one. I have favorite genre, but that switches a lot. So I like most music. I'll listen to almost anything. Out of the iTunes genres:
  • Alternative
  • Blues
  • Children's music
  • Christian and gospel
  • Classical
  • Comedy
  • Country
  • Dance
  • Electronic
  • Folk
  • Hip-hop/rap
  • Holiday
  • Jazz
  • Latino
  • Pop
  • R&B/Soul
  • Reggae
  • Rock
  • Soundtrack
  • Vocal
  • World

The ones I won't listen to are reggae and rap. Now there's a difference between hip-hop and rap. Rap is just someone talking rhythmically. Hip-hop has something else to listen to besides someones nasty lyrics.

Number Five
Number five is: What movie you are dying to go see? Hmm. Well there are some movies that I haven't seen in a while that I want to see. Monsters Inc., Beauty and the Beast, Into the Woods, and Monty Python and the Holy Grail. WE HAVE ALL OF THESE MOVIES! We have Monsters Inc. on video, and out VCR is broken. We have Beauty and the Beast, Into the Woods, and Monty Python and the Holy Grail on LASER DISC! The laser disc player is broken. It's quite sad.
What movies do I want to see in theaters? Umm. Enchanted, I Am Legend, and I'm also gonna want to see National Treasure: The Book of Secrets which comes out on Friday.

I think this is everything. AWESOME!! I'm done! I've completed the meme! FIRST!

Tee Hee

Last night my sister (R) was standing on the couch and singing,
"Good morning Voldemort!!!"
An accidental adjustment in the original lyrics "Good morning Baltimore".

Number Tree!

The third part of James's meme is your favorite board game. As many of you know my family is sort of the game family. We have spread different games far and wide to everyone we know. We really should get paid. So I don't have one favorite game. I have a list, but I guess most/none of these are actually board games.

-Puerto Rico: A delightful game where you build your own colony. It's pretty hard to explain but let's just say that my favorite part is when the colonists (those little brown dots in the picture) come to your colony.*
-The Great Dalmuti: An awesome game that teaches the lesson that "life is not fair." (Nasty pictures though.) Spider pit, spider pit.
-Greedy Hands: An exciting game that will either make or break you.
-Citadels: A super fun game. Just make sure that James doesn't become king.

*It's pretty funny. When the come I greet them. "Heeellloooo little people! Thank you for coming to my colony!!"

It Takes TWO!!

The second part of James's meme is the easiest song you can get stuck in your head.
Now I'm having trouble with this. Does it mean the simplest song that gets in my head or is it the song that's in my head the most?
Well, I won't do either of those. I'll do my favorite song.
It is.....
"It Takes Two" from "Into the Woods" but you see, it must be sung with Chip Zien. MUST.
I don't know what it is, but his voice makes me melt. It might just be in that song, but still...
Here is a clip, but you have to go to the very end. That's when they sing the song.
If you've never seen "Into the Woods" then you MIGHT be confused when you watch the clip. And if you haven't seen it then see it! It's fablus.

New!

Dad is getting his new car RIGHT now. It's a silver prius.

Awesome.

And I got new shoes yesterday. :D

Numero Uno

James has a meme for everyone to do. The first part is your favorite kid TV show that you saw when you were young.
My favorite TV show was/is probably....

The wonderful PBS kids TV show Arthur. We have a rule where we're not allowed to watch TV during the week unless it's a day off from school. We also had the simplest kind of cable. After Sept. 11th our pictures came in really fuzzy. Some were not as bad and others were really terrible.
We got the best picture during the fall and winter. Which was fine except we could only watch Arthur on Fridays because it wasn't on over the weekend.
During the summer we could watch TV everyday. The only problem was that you couldn't see the shows on PBS at all. Everyday we would check to see if we could see a little bit of PBS. When we could pick out the shapes of the characters and understand what they were saying it was the best day ever. Most of the time it was black and white fuzz, and a really loud buzzing noise.
I remember one day I turned on the TV and you could see and hear the people, but there was also COLOR! It was still really fuzzy, but who cares! I sort of ran into Mom's room and yelled that Arthur was on. I was SUPER excited.
Our TV had another problem. Something was wrong because sometimes the whole screen would go a red/black color and you would have to hit the TV to get it back to it's correct color. You would have to hit the TV less and less as it warmed up.
Since the best shows were in the morning, you can guess how Mom and Dad woke up each morning.
It wasn't a soft tap either. You had to hit the TV REALLY hard.
I remember one time when the P-kins came over and we were watching some sort of show or movie. Well the kids new about the secret of hitting the TV, and one time Christian got up and started hitting the TV when it had turned its sickly color. Bro. P-kins started saying/yelling at him for hitting our TV, and all of our family at once said, "Oh no! That's what your supposed to do."
There were many tricks to our TV. One was that you had to make sure nothing breakable was on top of the TV while you were hitting it. If there was something it would probably fall and die. Another was that you didn't have to hit it hard every time. Sometimes if you stared at it hard enough it would change. In its younger years you could just stomp on the floor and it would change back.
Ahh the good old days.
It doesn't matter now. We have a new TV that doesn't need any sort of hitting (not yet at least).
But we don't have TV shows. No more Arthur for me. I love Arthur, but the problem is, is that all the voices are different, so now I'm disappointed whenever I catch a glimpse of it at someone else's TV.
That's my answer. Arthur.
LAV IT!

Do it or die

Now Here's the deal. You MUST do this. (Alice correct me if I'm wrong) Christmas is coming the goose is getting.... ICY!!!!!
People! People! LISTEN! It's the holiday season and Santa Clause is comin' round, but there must be winter snow that's white on the ground!
It's probably the most wonderful time of the year because of all the wonderful weather. What I need you all to do is....
-Always sleep with you pajamas inside out.
-Sleep with a LICKED metal spoon under your pillow. (Must be licked each night).
-And check the weather every five minutes.
What is this for? It's for getting our snow (even though ice is better).
This truly works. I'll have Alice tell you the story.
Those bells won't jingle unless Kris Kringle has some snow for his sleigh!!! OKAY?!?!

Extra Credit: How many songs did I mention in this post?
Super Extra Credit: What book was I thinking of when I wrote the post?

Rant-a-long

Alright, alright, ALRIGHT (exclamation points) I'm posting (exclamation point) Are you happy?(exclamation point)? There seems to be some sort of problem with my keyboard. There is no number one, and with no number one there is no exclamation point. Tis horrible.
Now I must tell you all about my name.
M.Q.C. = Mary Quite Contrary. I am stuck with this name.
I can't say that I'm not contrary, because then I am. I can't say that I am, because... then I am. WHAT SHOULD I DO ?(exclamation point)?(exclamation point)?(exclamation point)
People, help me with the awesome-est comeback for this nickname. I don't mind being called MQC as long as I can make a witty remark about it. I NEED WITTY(exclamation points)
Thanks for the help.*
Look at the weather this weekend. It looks lovely!!!!!**

*You better help me.
** Oh My GOSH!!! I didn't even realize. There is another button where the one is supposed to be.
Now I can do them!! What ever is to the left of the one is not there, and the key right above it. No time to change now the bell is going to ring.
