Amazing

I love looking at notebooks that I had used for school. The books from elementary school are pretty hilarious. So I was reading a notebook from 5th grade and came across this:

Stand tall, stand proud

Voices that care are crying out loud

And when you close your eyes tonight,

Feel in your heart how our love burns bright.

So now I think that I was a kid genius. This is one of the most amazing things that I have ever written. Then I start to think about it, and think it might be a little too brilliant. So I type the whole thing into Google, and I come up with the lyrics to "Voices That Care".

You can imagine my disappointment.

Did you miss me?

Sorry I've been away. I've been busy? So yeah.
What happened to me over the break and other stuff:
  • My glasses will never be fixed. The guy "fixed" my glasses. Then I put them on my head and they broke again. We take them back to the store, and a different guy fixes them. And they break. Don't go to BJ's for your glasses.
As for the actual glasses man, I hope I never see him again. Basically he was really bored because not only was he a glasses man, but he was a matchmaker too! The worst part was when I had to tell him my number... backwards. I had to tell him ####-###-(###) I had to say dash and all that stuff. I wanted to die.
  • I got a snake! It's a baby corn snake that I got from PetCo. It's white/orange/red and it's a girl. I haven't figured out a name yet. Any suggestions would be LOVELY.
  • I have a lovely cold/flu/pneumonia/strep and I'm living off of Airborne Gummies and cough drops.
  • I think the stake choir did a very nice job. Except for the till we meet song. Everyone kind of sang there own version of that. I could have sworn the congregation thought we were crazy. It didn't sound much like singing. More like mur-mur-ing. (mur mur mur mur)
  • My room is only half a mess.
  • I can't wait until the next break. When is that?
  • There might be snow/sleet tomorrow.
  • When I type it's doing this weird overlapping thing where if I have to go back and change a word it deletes what I did after that.
  • I have a terrible but wonderful memory. I can remember what I was for Halloween 8 years ago, but I can't remember what happened on Friday.
  • Seminary is WAY too early.
  • I'm always less sick during the day than in the morning and bedtime.

That is all.

Praises

My Happy List

  • Even though I don't thinkn it's necessary, we have an early dismissal.
  • I have no homework.
  • I'm wearing my glasses to school for the first time!!
  • I CAN SEE!
  • No proof test today (again)!
  • The rest of the periods I have are free!
  • I'm wearing my glasses right now. Even though I don't have to wear them.
  • I feel cool.

My Sad List

  • We're out of juice.
  • I don't get to take my proof test today.
  • One of the lenses in my glasses isn't in all the way.
  • My glasses have to go back to the scary glasses store guy.

UPDATE: Mom took the glasses to the scary man and he fixed them. They're all better. I wear them often, and clean them even more.

Yes We Can

The groundswell of enthusiastic support for Barack Obama continues to ignite across the country and is unprecedented in modern political history. He is building a broad, diverse coalition and has energized millions of young people to become engaged in the political process for the first time. He has also inspired so many who had been disenfranchised in the past to rise up and embrace a movement of hope and unity.
Yet the path to a glorious victory in November will be extremely arduous and require tremendous fortitude. We face an opponent and a former President that will descend to any depth in their ruthless pursuit of power. The Clintons thrive and excel in the cut throat tactics of political warfare and as they sense that their reign is slipping away, they will resort to literally whatever it takes to prevail.
The vast majority of the Clintons base consists of white women and the elderly. This is a highly disciplined block of voters that will always turn out in high numbers. Our challenge is to ensure that the massive show of support for Barack is translated directly into votes during the remainder of the primary. We must not dilute the tidal wave that is sweeping the country by attending the rallies and then failing to get registered and cast a vote on Election Day.
The country is at a critical crossroad and the choice of leadership could not be cast in starker contrast. Barack Obama is the inspirational, visionary leader that comes along once in a lifetime. He will be the uplifting force of change to repair the wreckage of the Bush/Cheney regime and be the face of a revitalized, united America that will restore moral authority across the world. Whereas the Clintons will turn the clock back in perpetuating the bitter partisanship that has had a corrosive, debilitating effect on our country for the twenty long years that they and the Bushes have occupied the White House.
Our moment in history is before us and it may never present itself again. We must seize the opportunity and have the courage to make Barack Obama the next President of the United States.

Juice!

Nobody looks good in a purple mustache.
Except for her.
